Local, UK and international mission

​

At HTCD, we have a mission to disciple the members of our church and to reach out to those beyond. We have a variety of local, national and international missionary projects and organisations that we support.

 

Jesus gave his disciples a task which helps to define missions today:

 

“You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

                                                                                                                                         Acts 1:8

For the disciples, ‘Jerusalem’ was their local community, the equivalent of our parish and our workplaces for us today.  ‘Judea’ and ‘Samaria’ were culturally distinct groups living side by side in the disciples’ homeland. For us, this reflects our city of Bath and areas across the UK.

 

Of course the term ‘to the ends of the Earth’ reflects the rest of the world and forms our international mission.
