Southside is a local charity in Bath that supports families across Bath and North East Somerset who are dealing with issues such as physical disability, domestic abuse and mental health problems. The charity aims to strengthen communities and develop support networks.
Throughout August 2020, Southside is providing Summer Holiday Family Food Hub Groups to areas including Peasedown St John, Keynsham, Foxhill and Twerton. The groups 'enable families to access a healthy cooked meal one day per week and connect with the Southside team in a safe and socially distanced way.' The meals are planned by a professional chef and being cooked at centres in the heart of each local community, including St Andrew's Community Church. Our kitchens at STACC are being used by the chef to prepare the nutritious meals and the families are also given guidance on how to cook the meals together at home, using recipes provided by the charity.
